Pubblimarket2 is a GORE-TEX® partner for the AlpCross 2012 project
W.L. Gore Associates Inc., the American technology company famous for its GORE-TEX® membranes, appointed Pubblimarket2 to organise the AlpCross 2012 project, one of the events in the GORE-TEX® Experience Tour programme, which includes a series of activities aimed to encourage people to engage with the outdoor world and to test apparel and footwear fitted with GORE-TEX® membranes.
Pubblimarket2 worked alongside the German and Italian management of GORE-TEX® to conceive the event, as well as organising the project, the logistical support, services and handling of post-event content.
Among the over 500 enthusiasts who applied to media partners National Geographic France, National Geographic Italy and 4-Seasons Magazine, Germany, on the GORE-TEX® Experience Tour website platform, and on the dedicated Facebook page, eight young winners were selected to take part in the event and hailing from six different European countries. AlpCross 2012 was held from 25 to 31 August, and the eight participants covered some 75 km, with 7,000 metres of height difference, including climbing Austria's second highest peak, the Wildspitze (3,770m).
The objectives of the event (involving new, younger consumers, conveying more information about the technical benefits of equipment that uses GORE-TEX® membrane, and increasing brand awareness across Europe) were amply accomplished, and the event itself was a great success, with high numbers of applicants and contacts made through the press and internet.
